AIT124: Composites – 3 credits

Basic composite materials, construction, and repair. Manufacturing methods and equipment. Assessment and repair of composite structures using vacuum bagging and other approved procedures. Corrosion control, electrical bonding, materials substitutions, machining of composite components, mold fabrication. Hot bond repair of composite components including complex shapes and varied materials. Prerequisites: None.

AIT128: A-620 Cable and Wire Harness Assembly Certification – 3 credits

This course will prepare the successful student to receive the "Certified IPC Specialist" (CIS) certification from The Institute for Interconnecting and Packaging Electronic Circuits (IPC)/Wire Harness Manufacturer's Association (WHMA) in "Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies" (IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certification). Topics covered and skills to be demonstrated are: soldered terminations, crimp terminations, insulation displacement terminations (IDC), splices, connectorization, marking/labeling, coaxial cable assemblies, electrical shielding, wire marking and labeling, and testing methodologies. Certification is verified by a certified IPC trainer (CIT). Prerequisites: None.

AIT215: Process Control Systems – 4 credits

Introductory course in Process Control Systems design, operation, and tuning of Proportional, Integral, Derivative (PID) controllers for regulating flow, temperature, pressure, and level of industrial process variables. Includes manual control, feedback control, automated controls, analysis process setup, operate, and troubleshooting processes of control systems. Also includes typical Pipe and Instrument Diagram (P&IDs) symbols and tags along with the development of a basic P&ID drawing. Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in AIT125, or permission of Instructor.
