The course will be conducted outside on real rock and students will have ample time to practice their skills. This course is for beginners and intermediate climbers. A basic level of fitness is required and students must have reliable transportation to meet at the offsite location. Travel/activity fee of $20 (due at registration) covers costs for all rock climbing equipment (harness, helmet, climbing shoes). Class requires online coursework between 1/20-3/13, and meets offsite on Sat., 2/21, from 8 am-4 pm, for outdoor rock climbing activities.

Emphasis on seven (7) Leave No Trace principles. Skills needed to effectively teach and demonstrate minimum impact techniques and outdoor ethics.
Prerequisites: None. Note: RPM155AK provides hands-on experiences, held in the outdoors with one overnight camping. Course instructor(s) are certified LNT Master Educators. Students who successfully complete the course become Leave No Trace Trainers and receive a completion certificate through the LNT Center. Basic level of fitness recommended. RMP155AK may be repeated for a total of four (4) credit hours.

This course is hands-on, held outdoors with overnight camping/backpacking. Transportation and some food is included: a basic level of fitness is required. A $10 travel/activity fee is due at registration and is non-refundable after 1/20. Online course work is required starting 1/20. Class trip departs from SCC on Sat., 2/21, and returns Sun., 2/22.
