ACC260: Certified Bookkeeper (CB) Preparation – 3 credits

Fundamental accounting practices including accrual and deferral adjustments, correcting common transaction recording errors, bank reconciliations and adjusting entries. Includes payroll accounting and related Federal and State payroll law requirements. Accounting for depreciation for financial and tax accounting purposes covered. Inventory valuation methods. Includes calculating, recording, and reporting under generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Preventive internal control procedures to detect organizational fraud, theft, and embezzlement covered. AIT124: Composites – 3 credits

Basic composite materials, construction, and repair. Manufacturing methods and equipment. Assessment and repair of composite structures using vacuum bagging and other approved procedures. Corrosion control, electrical bonding, materials substitutions, machining of composite components, mold fabrication. Hot bond repair of composite components including complex shapes and varied materials. Prerequisites: None.

AJS107: Patrol Procedures – 3 credits

Specialized areas of the patrol function, including responding to crowds, riots, bomb threats, intoxication, hazardous materials, fires, and domestic disputes. Prerequisites: None.

AJS139: Emergency Response to Terrorism – 3 credits

Fundamentals of emergency response to suspected terrorist events. Historical perspective of terrorist activities and methods by which responders can identify and protect themselves and the public from these threats. Coordination of responding agencies. Prerequisites: None.

The study of serial killers, mass murderers and their victims. Covers the fundamental principles of fingerprints, including the history of fingerprint classification, the biology of friction ridge skin, pattern analysis, comparison, and identification as well as their application in significant court cases. An introduction to methods police, court, and correctional personnel employ specific to those with mental health conditions. Covers various types of mental health conditions and police emergency responses to persons in crisis. Examines how criminal and civil courts intersect with persons diagnosed with mental disorders; includes diversion programs and the correctional response both within the community and under confinement. Capstone course for level two certificate in addictions and substance use disorders program. ASD285II: Multicultural Aspects – 1 credit

Multicultural aspects of counseling in addictions and substance use disorders. Emphasis on current and developing treatment information. Covers common aspects of multicultural characteristics and treatment strategies. Also explores ethical counselor/client relationships. Prerequisites: None. Note: ASD285II may be repeated for a total of four (4) credit hours.

ASL101: American Sign Language I – 4 credits

Introduction of principles, methods, and techniques for communicating with deaf people who sign. Development of expressive and receptive sign skills, manual alphabet, numbers, and sign vocabulary. Overview of syntax, grammar, and culture related to American Sign Language (A.S.L.).

BHS210: Addictions, Substance Use Disorders, and Recovery – 3 credits

Introduction to the historical and current developments in the field of addiction, as well as sociological, psychological, and physiological aspects of addictive behaviors and substance use. Introduces contemporary treatment methods within addiction practice, including self-help groups, levels of care, symptom identification, and models of prevention, and intervention. Building upon desktop application development with Visual Studio using VB.NET or C# languages, developing apps for Windows 8 utilizes Extensible Application Markup Language (XAML) for interface design. Windows 8 utilizes UI design standards that are unique from previous versions. Develop apps for Windows 8 smartphones and tablets that utilize touch input methods, translate into different resolutions, states, and orientations, and can tap into mobile features such as location and acceleration sensors. Includes working with external data and packaging for Windows Store distribution. Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in CIS159 or CIS162AD or permission of Instructor.

Study of descriptive analytics and how to apply statistical tools and methods on historical and current datasets and multi-domain cases. Study of predictive analytics and how to apply statistical tools and methods on historical and current datasets and multi-domain cases previously analyzed for the purposes of yielding accurate inferential and predictive analytic results. Apply advanced and emergent statistical tools and methods, while modeling practices and processes, that facilitate the maturation of organizational analytic capabilities toward a desired future state. Predict analytical outcomes that are repeatable, and consistent with hypotheses, which lead to improved business decisions.
