ARC112: Architectural Computer Aided Design II: Plans and Elevations – 3 credits

Computer-aided drafting (CAD). Creation of a fully annotated plan, elevation, and schematic section views including dimensions, notes, symbols, and schedule, using a computer aided drafting software such as AutoCAD. Includes an introduction to three-dimensional (3D) CAD using SketchUp and Building Information (BIM) software such as Revit. Note: Students must have working knowledge of basic computer operating systems including, but not limited to, Windows or MAC OS. Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in ARC/INT111. Completion of prerequisites within the last three years is required unless current work experience to override this time constraint is approved with permission of Instructor.

  • This class meets for an 8-week period during the full length semester. Students should expect an increased amount of work each week during the 8 weeks as compared to the same class offered in the full semester. Students are encouraged to work with an academic advisor to be sure their course load is balanced over the course of a given semester.
    This course uses AutoCAD software. Dependable access to a computer that can install and run AutoCAD is recommended. Additional details will be discussed on the first day of class.
