MUP240: Piano Literature – 2 credits

A chronological study and analysis of the repertoire for piano and other keyboard instruments from the late sixteenth century to the twenty-first century. Emphasis on the evolution of the piano, musical periods, and characteristics of the musical forms found in keyboard repertoire. Includes historical and biographical context related to major piano composers. Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in MUP140 or permission of Instructor.
