The overall purpose of this course is to supply students with reading skills that help them with common everyday survival skills that will help students become more successful in their community. Students will learn the speech sounds of the consonants as well as the sounds of the long, short, and r controlled vowels. Students will recognize techniques that will enable them to spell and pronounce English words correctly.
