Focuses on the prevention and management of chronic disease as a critical priority for health systems around the world. Provides participants with an overview of the prevention and management of chronic disease in community settings. Identifies effective programs and policies to reduce the risk of chronic disease, or to control their consequences. Develops practical skills in analyzing and evaluating approaches to chronic disease in a variety of settings. Helps to identify capacities and opportunities for change. The focus on prevention is expanded further through a deeper discussion of health equity and the social determinants of health. Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in IPH101, IPH105, and IPH106 or permission of Program Director.
