EDU221: Introduction to Education – 3 credits

Overview of the historical, political, economic, social, and philosophical factors that influence education and make it so complex. Opportunity for students to assess their interest and suitability for teaching. Prerequisites: None. Note: EDU221 requires a minimum of 30 hours of field experience in elementary or secondary classroom environment.

      MCCCD liability form are required prior to starting volunteer hours.
      EDU 221 is part of a block schedule synced with EDU 230. Class times are on Monday and Wednesday for 8 weeks. Tuesday and Thursday will be utilized for Online instruction, with further direction from the instructor.
