VET101: Introduction to Veterinary Technology
– 3 credits
Introduces the role of the veterinary paraprofessional to the veterinary science industry. Addresses professional development, including ethics, professionalism, and legal implications of veterinary practice. Students will be introduced to animal husbandry and nutrition, animal behavior, species and breed identification, the human-animal bond, biosecurity, equine medicine, livestock medicine, companion animal medicine, and lab animal medicine. Note: Completion of High school biology is recommended prior to enrolling in VET101. Prerequisites: None. Corequisites: VET101LL.

Live Online classes have sessions that meet online on specific days and times. Attendance in these sessions will be at the discretion of the instructor, and additional work will be required on the student’s own time. Access to a computer or mobile device with Internet connection is required.
