RDG100: Successful College Reading
– 3 credits
Emphasis on reading study strategies for any introductory class in any subject area. Introduction to Learning Management System (LMS), how to successfully read course textbooks and assessments, how to navigate information technology and development of academic vocabulary. Note: RDG100 satisfies RDG091 requirement. RDG100 may be repeated for a total of twelve (12) credit hours. Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in ALT100, or ESL202, or appropriate reading placement, or permission of Instructor. Corequisites: Any 100-level course in another content area, or permission of Instructor.

- Notes: Hybrid classes include face-to-face format on campus at the time listed in the class schedule. The other part will be held online either without a set time to attend or a Live Online session.

- Additional Notes: Students who test into RDG091 are now able to satisfy the RDG091 requirement with RDG100. This class is designed to help students read the necessary college level material used in a companion course in another discipline. Students must be co-enrolled in any introductory course in another content area to take RDG100.
It is highly encouraged that you attend the FREE MCC Reading/Writing Boot Camps that occurs prior to the beginning of the semester. Participants will review key skills necessary for success; participants will be better prepared for their course.
