EQS250: Equine Evaluation – 3 credits

Fundamental relationship between good conformation and ability of the horse to remain sound and useful. Includes basic skeletal structure, common deviations in range of motion and evidence of lamenesses. Breed conformation standards and performance events for the more common breeds. Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in EQS120 or permission of Department or Division.

    • Notes: This class meets for an 8-week period during the full length semester. Students should expect an increased amount of work each week during the 8 weeks as compared to the same class offered in the full semester. Students are encouraged to work with an academic advisor to be sure their course load is balanced over the course of a given semester.
      First class and all subsequent classes will meet at Desert Sun Ranch (18940 E Via de Palmas, Queen Creek AZ 85142). As determined by instructor, class may occasionally meet at an alternative location to be announced.
      Students are responsible for transportation to off-site locations.
