Associate-level knowledge and skills required to secure Cisco networks. Development of a security infrastructure, identification of threats and vulnerabilities to networks. Mitigation of security threats. Core security technologies. Installation, troubleshooting and monitoring of network devices to maintain integrity, confidentiality and availability of data and devices. Competency in the technologies that Cisco uses in its security structure. Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in CNT160AB, or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification, or permission of Instructor.

- Notes: This course will be taught with multiple attendance options.
For each scheduled meeting of this class, students have the option of attending in the classroom or participating online, or a combination of both. Students can change their mode of participation weekly or by topic, according to need or preference. However, students are required to attend at least two class sessions in person at some point during the course. The online portion of this class requires the use of a computer or mobile device with internet access, a webcam, speakers, and a microphone.
Hybrid classes combine a reduced amount of scheduled classroom time with required out-of-class learning activities, typically conducted online.
