Topics include Uniform Hospital Discharge Data Set; diagnostic-related groups; federal regulations for hospital-based settings; coding conventions for home health, long term care, rehabilitation, and other health care settings; and the use of codes for administrative, reimbursement, marketing, and regulatory purposes. Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in (HIM208 and HIM210) or permission of Program Director.
