CIS105: Survey of Computer Information Systems – 3 credits

Overview of computer technology, concepts, terminology, and the role of computers in business and society. Discussion of social and ethical issues related to computers. Use of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software. Includes uses of application software and the Internet for efficient and effective problem solving. Exploration of relevant emerging technologies. Prerequisites: None.

    CIS105 is a lecture course with computers demonstrations and open lab assignments. CIS105 uses Windows-based computers to cover word processing, presentation, spreadsheet and database management software. Includes overview of computer technology, concepts, terminology and the role of computers in business and society. Discussion of social and ethical issues related to computers and exploration of relevant emerging technologies. Knowledge or basic features of Windows and ability to type 30 WPM recommended. CIS105 uses Microsoft Office 2016 or 2019 and either Windows 7, 8, or 10 software. Chromebooks and iPads are not supported. Students require access to a PC and/or Mac to complete coursework.

DHE227: Dental Anesthesia – 2 credits

A comprehensive lecture and laboratory course providing concepts and techniques for the administration of local anesthetic agents and nitrous oxide. Experience gained in medical history review, electronic recordkeeping, patient management, and hands-on experience administering local anesthetics and nitrous oxide in a clinical setting. Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in DHE119.

  • This course is designed the Community Cohort students. Must be a licensed dental hygienists wanting to fulfill the state of Arizona licensure requirement for administering local anesthesia.
    Students are required to take DHE227 Lecture Class, a DHE227 Laboratory Class and CEU 100-93106 16011
