Includes the study of the speech sounds used in English as represented by the written symbols of the alphabet; recognition of spelling patterns; resulting pronunciation; and spelling. Prerequisites: Appropriate ESL course placement score, or a grade of C or better in (ESL020, or ESL021, or ESL022, or ESL026), or permission of Instructor.
