Procedural aspects of the criminal trial process in Arizona state courts from preliminary proceedings through trial. Emphasis on application of the rules of criminal procedure and preparation of common trial documents by paralegals. Documents include the charging instrument, pre-trial motions, and jury instructions. Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in LAS109 and (BPC110 or CIS105 or permission of Program Director).

Class Meets for Twelve (12) Weeks
Assignment due first class. For this class, students MUST attend in-person on 9/14; 9/28; 10/26; 11/23. For the other eight class sessions, the class will meet in-person on the campus AND live online via Webex at the same time every week and on those other eight days students can choose to attend in-person or via WebEx. Other than the four mandatory in-person days, the entire classroom, including the instructor, will be simultaneously in-person AND online via Webex.
