ESL040: English as a Second Language IV: Grammar – 3 credits

Fourth level of English as a Second Language (ESL) grammar. Emphasis on verb forms, modals, participles, gerunds and infinitives, clauses, and paragraph writing. Note: ESL040 may be repeated for a total of six (6) credit hours. Credit (P) or no credit (Z). Standard grading available according to procedures outlined in catalog. Prerequisites: Appropriate ESL placement test score or a grade of P or C or better in ESL030.

ESL042: ESL IV-Writing With Oral Practice – 3 credits

Emphasis on paragraph writing and oral recitation of complex sentences and paragraphs. Introduction to the prewriting and writing process for short essays. May be repeated for a maximum of six (6) credits. Prerequisites: Appropriate ESL course placement score, or a grade of C or better in ESL032, or permission of Instructor.
