FMT135: 16mm Film Workshop: Production – 3 credits

Introduction to elements of production for motion picture and television. Focuses on directing, crew responsibilities, camera operation, lenses, lighting and sound recording. Production of one film shoot and one video shoot required. Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in FMT134, or permission of Department or Division.

  • Costs include FMT Course Fee: $240.00
    • Notes: FMT134, FMT135 and FMT136 are Cohort Workshops and must be taken in consecutive order (134 first, 135 second, and 136 last).
      For example, students who register for the FMT 134 Cohort 1 class should continue throughout the sequence by enrolling in the next sequential Cohort 1 classes.
      Students may not take a break between any of the courses and need to finish with the same cohort (taking each course at the same time of day until completion of the sequence).

      Low-Textbook-Cost Class: The total cost of the required materials for this course is $40 or less.
      This is an accelerated course meeting 8 hours a week for 5 weeks, requiring 16 hours of time outside of class for homework, activities and assignments each week. Additional time will be required outside of class for weekend film productions. Students may be lifting or moving equipment boxes weighing up to 60 pounds.
