AVC103: Typography in the Digital Age – 3 credits

Survey of the history of typography and individual designers. Emphasis on the function of typography as an integral part of effective visual communication. Study of type anatomy, mechanics, characteristics, structure, and the principles of effective selection and the relation of copy and image in graphic design. Evaluate fonts both visually and technically and learn how to manage them. Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in AVC100 or permission of Instructor.
