Overview of the historical, political, economic, social, ethical, and philosophical factors that contribute to the complexity of the education system. Required ECBL
Class requires an Experiential and Community-Based Learning Activity (ECBL) including, but not limited to: Service-Learning, Internships, Volunteerism, and/or other high-impact/engaging ECBL activities.
Class 14530 costs include EDU Course Fee: $2
The State of Arizona requires a Fingerprint Clearance Card for all students engaged in a classroom field experience. Fingerprint clearance cards are available from the Arizona Department of Public Safety or through the Teacher Education Program in the LA building.
Prior to first day of class, student must obtain an IVP fingerprint clearance card or be currently employed by a K-12 school that requires a completed background check for employment; employment verification is required. Contact heather.merrill@gccaz.edu for enrollment requirements.

Overview of the exceptional learner with emphasis on factors relating to current practices, identification, characteristics, and educational adaptations. Issues related to mild disabilities, severe disabilities, emotional and behavioral disorders, intellectual disabilities, and students who are gifted. Prerequisites: None.
