Live Sound Reinforcement I (MUC197) 3 Credits

Basic principles of live sound engineering. Emphasis on signal flow, acoustic, sound reinforcement set-ups and installation, signal processing, microphone selections and placement. Includes setting up sound systems and mixing live music.
Prerequisites: None.

      HYBRID CLASS. Blends classroom and online instruction/activities resulting in fewer in-person class meetings. Designed for highly motivated, self-directed, computer-literate students.
      The first 8 weeks will be in-person with some work required outside of the classroom. The second 8 weeks will be live online instruction during the scheduled class.
      This course will require a computer with webcam and microphone for synchronous live online lecture classes.
      We have suspended the $75 course fee for this class to compensate for students needing to purchase these extra course materials.
      A computer with internet access required.
