EDU368: Reading Instructional Practices, Interventions, and Assessments in Grades K-8 – 3 credits

Application of instructional practices, interventions and assessments associated with reading instruction and the systematic teaching of phonics to support readers of varying ages and ability levels, including students with dyslexia. This course addresses historical methods, current research, research-based instructional practices, assessments and interventions using Multi-tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) or Response to Intervention (RTI). Note: EDU368 requires an approved field experience. Prerequisites: Formal acceptance to a Maricopa Community College state approved teacher preparation program or permission of Department or Division.
