CTR252AA: Court Reporting Skill Building: Block IV Literary Material – 4 credits

Development of speed and accuracy skills with dictation, readback, and transcription in literary material. Speed requirements of 120 and 140 words per minute (wpm) with speed and accuracy to meet court reporting industry standards. Note: Student must demonstrate completion of required speed in each module with a grade of C or better before enrolling in the next level. Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in CTR251AA or permission of Program Director. Corequisites: (CTR251AB or CTR252AB or CTR253AB) and (CTR251AC or CTR252AC or CTR253AC).

    • Notes: Hybrid Virtual combines synchronous (scheduled online meeting times) and asynchronous (On-Your-Own-Time) instruction. Attendance is mandatory for synchronous learning. CANVAS is used as the learning management system. Students are required to have access to a computer or mobile device, internet access, a webcam, speaker, and microphone, unless otherwise specified.

      This is a performance-based course. Extensive practice outside of class is essential to the success in the program. Developing hand-mind coordination is key to mastering stenography.

      Online virtual meetings with the instructor and/or classmates will be scheduled at agreed-upon dates and times throughout the course.
