CRE101: College Critical Reading and Critical Thinking – 3 credits

Develop and apply critical thinking skills through critically reading varied and challenging materials. Includes analysis, evaluation, interpretation, and synthesis through at least two substantial writing and/or speaking tasks. Note: Students may only receive credit for one of the following: CRE101, CRE101AT, CRE101BM, CRE101BS, CRE101CS, CRE101CT, CRE101ED, CRE101HS, CRE101SM, CRE101VA. EXS290: Introduction to Evidence-Based Practice – 3 credits

Introduction to Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) as a framework for logical reasoning and informed decision-making in professional settings, particularly in the movement sciences. Students formulate professional questions, acquire and appraise relevant evidence, synthesize findings, and explore practical applications. Specific emphasis on the use of data to inform recommendations and consideration of audience, purpose and context to communicate effectively in both written and oral presentations.
