Provides a detailed overview of cloud concepts, Amazon Web Services (AWS) core services, security, architecture, pricing, and support. Intended for students who seek an overall understanding of cloud computing concepts, independent of specific technical roles. Helps to prepare students for the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam.

CLD120: Amazon Web Services Cloud Architect Associate – 3 credits

Fundamentals of building IT infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Focus on how to optimize use of the AWS Cloud by understanding AWS services and best practices for the AWS Cloud and how they fit into cloud-based solutions. Covers design patterns for architecting optimal IT solutions on AWS, as well as strategies and services implemented on AWS. Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in CLD110 or permission of Instructor.

      Lab required for Course: CLD120 Lab Kit: AWS Academy Cloud Architecting. Students will receive an email from their instructor with access information once the course begins.
      Access to the textbook will be provided free of charge through the Rio Salado Library. Access instructions will be provided in the Course Introduction. Students are NOT required to purchase a physical copy of the text unless they desire to do so.
      This course uses both the RioLearn teaching and the AWS Canvas platforms. The RioLearn platform will link to the AWS Canvas course materials.
