Examines the ParamedicÆs roles and responsibilities to assure personal, patient, and public health and safety in the provision of professional emergency care. Provides a comprehensive overview of the various body systems with an emphasis on respiratory and cardiovascular systems, pathophysiology, epidemiology, pharmacology, and advanced patient assessment practices. Development of psychomotor skills within the paramedic scope of practice through sequenced lab simulations and scenario-based training. Emphasizes the integration of assessment findings to formulate differential diagnoses and implement management plans for medical emergencies and trauma across the lifespan. Includes airway patency, mechanical ventilation, pharmacological interventions, and prioritization of care based on patient presentation. Also includes application of advanced techniques for assuring effective respiration and circulation while addressing critical conditions such as respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, cardiac dysrhythmias, and peri-arrest states.
