    Learn and practice basic camping/backpacking skills, including equipment selection, wilderness first aid, and "leave no trace" principles. Combines online assignments and one overnight field experience (8 am on Sat., 11/14 to 5 pm on Sun., 11/15). Basic level of fitness required.

    This class meets for an 8-week period during the full length semester. Students should expect an increased amount of work each week during the 8 weeks as compared to the same class offered in the full semester.
