Exploration of population health as a system of diverse cultures, values, and subgroups with varying socioeconomic circumstances and levels of vulnerability. Emphasis on factors affecting community settings using epidemiological data and functional health pattern assessments to plan, organize, and deliver services in community settings, including health education and promotion, illness prevention, and disaster preparedness. Includes project and simulation-based field experiences. Prerequisites: Admission into the RN to BSN program; current, unencumbered RN license.

Class 20042 There will be an in-person field experience, details of which will be provided by the instructor. There may also be 1 in-person day on campus (TBD).
Class 20042 Online classes do not meet at specific scheduled times. Coursework must be completed and submitted according to deadlines. Students are required to have access to a computer or mobile device, and internet access. Canvas is used as the learning management system. Student is required to log into the course, in Canvas, on the first day of class and regularly during each week of the course. Discussion questions are posted weekly and require a minimum of 3 posts, on separate days, every week.
