ICE233: Fundamentals of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) – 1 credit

Overview of magnetic resonance imaging, program policies and student responsibilities. Includes fundamental principles of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), primary and secondary equipment, and MRI terminology. Imaging parameters, clinical applications overview for MRI and preparation for physics, instrumentation, and safety coursework. Basic overview of safety issues and MRI contrast agents. Prerequisites: ARRT in Radiography/RT or ARRT/NMTCB in Nuclear Medicine or ARDMS/ARRT in DMS or (Radiography/Radiation Therapist/Nuclear Medicine/Sonography student) or registry eligible graduate. Corequisites: DMI/DMS/ICE220 or permission of Dept/Div.
