Applications of theory and basic principles of refrigeration in residential heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. Includes installations, diagnostics, preventative and predictive maintenance, and customer service. A grade of C or better required in all Prerequisites. Introduction to major components and functions of residential heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (H.V.A.C.r) systems, to include heat flow and basic electrical concepts. Examines federal laws, standards and procedures for the preparation to complete the certification for the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) SECTION 608.
