Emphasis on the decline of the Moslem empire(s), the resurgence of contemporary Pan- Arabism, the Palestinian-Israeli question, jihadism, fundamentalist terrorism, the Taliban and Al Qaeda, and the impact of oil production on the region and the rest of the world.
