Introduction to teaching reading and writing for dual language learners in early childhood settings. Includes second language acquisition terminology, theories, and strategies. Emphasis on instructional and assessment strategies as well as reading comprehension and writing skills. Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in EED200 or permission of Instructor and (formal admission to an undergraduate educator preparation program or declaration of the BA in Early Childhood Education - Dual Language program or permission of Department or Division).
