Use of game development software tools to demonstrate advanced concepts for modeling real-time simulations and creating computer games using object oriented development tools. Low-Textbook-Cost Class: The total cost of the required materials for this course is $40 or less.
Textbook Note: Low-Textbook-Cost Class. The same textbook purchase will be used for the following courses: CIS107, CIS151, and CIS251.
Storage Device Note: It is recommended that students have an external SSD storage device to store their course work; this device will be utilized by multiple courses within the Video Game Production program. Recommended SSD device options include: Crucial, Seagate, SanDisk Extreme, SanDisk Extreme Pro, or Samsung T Series with a minimum capacity of 1TB and read/write speeds of 1000MB/s or greater. Check with our Campus Bookstore for available options.
Software Note: CIS251 currently utilizes industry standard free versions of the Unity Game Engine and Microsoft Visual Studio with the C# programming language for gameplay scripting.
Students will be provided an Adobe Creative Cloud account tied to their MEID username for home use on PC or Mac computers (smartphone or tablet mobile devices are not supported) during the duration of this course. Students should review the minimum configuration requirements to run Adobe CC on their personal device at:
