Fully-adjustable, high-resolution, digital camera is required. (digital SLR recommended). Art100, Introduction to Computer Graphic Art, is highly recommended as a precursor to this course. This class is taught using Macintosh computers. A DSLR camera is required.
Students in this class will be provided an Adobe Creative Cloud account tied to their MEID username, for home use on PC or Mac computers (smartphone or tablet mobile devices are not supported) during the duration of this course. This course is a darkroom-based course (film processing and printing). It does not cover digital photography. 35mm or medium format camera required

While it is not required, if you wish to work on your assignments on a home computer/laptop, you must purchase a student photography (Lightroom Classic CC & Photoshop CC) subscription from the Adobe Creative Cloud. Your computer will also need to meet Adobe's system requirements. This software is not required for this class because a campus digital media lab is available for student use outside class hours. Purchasing information will be available in Canvas when the course starts or by contacting the instructor and is expected to cost $9.99 per month.

This course will explore a diversity of film-based tools. This is a traditional wet darkroom course, hand developing film and making gelatin silver prints is the basis for the semester. Requires additional 120 minutes of lab time each week and Instructor will provide details the first day of class.
A manual SLR film camera is required for this class.
This class requires an additional out-of-pocket expense, usually exceeding $100.
