ARC141: Architectural CAD I: Introduction – 3 credits

Introduction to Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) for Architecture, Interior Design, and related professions using AutoCAD software. Includes basic operational systems, drawing set-ups, architectural formats, and two-dimensional drawing. Editing commands, annotation, and plotting for the industry also included. Prerequisites: None. Note: ARC141 may be repeated for a total of six (6.0) credits.

ARC142: Architectural CAD II: Plans and Elevations – 3 credits

Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) instruction directed to the creation of fully annotated plan, elevation, and schematic section views including dimensions, notes, symbols, and schedules. Introduction to three-dimensional (3D) CAD using SketchUp. Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in ARC141 or permission of Instructor.

ARC250: Basic Revit – 3 credits

Basic skills required to complete architectural drawings with Revit software; simplified overview of the software program and operations gained through completing typical plan, elevation, sectional, and 3D views, using generic walls and related components.
Prerequisites: None. ARC141, or previous AutoCAD/industry experience recommended. Note: ARC/INT250 may be repeated for a total of six (6) credit hours.

Provides students with introductory level instruction utilizing Sketchup rendering software for school and workplace applications. Addresses basic drawing/rendering commands, accessing external drawing files, and plotting through the creation of both three-dimensional schematic and rendered interior and exterior building views. Prerequisites: None. Previous CAD experience recommended but not required. Note: ARC265/INT251 may be repeated for a total of six (6) credit hours.
