Emphasizes instrumental and vocal techniques and the preparation of all styles of rock band literature. Introduces music business. Requires participation in public and private performances throughout the semester. Note: MUP158 may be repeated for a total of four (4) credits. Prerequisites: Auditions are required.

      Rock Band will focus on the learning and performing of rock and pop music, using techniques for ear training and music theory stemming from the historical development of such styles. Students will rehearse weekly and present several concerts to the public both on and off campus.
      PLEASE NOTE: A face covering is not required to attend in-person class meetings. However, any individual who prefers to wear a mask on campus is supported to do so. If the COVID restrictions and conditions change, this class may need to transition to one of our virtual modalities.
