IPP211: Preparation for Interpreting – 1 credit

Development of pre-interpreting skills, cognitive processing and analysis of interpreting process theories. Pre-interpreting skills include memory, cloze, identifying meaning, paraphrasing and summarization. Source language analysis and target language equivalents emphasized. Analysis of texts and contexts of monologues. Prerequisites: Acceptance into the Interpreter Preparation Program or permission of Department or Division.
