Simulation of actual emergency responses, with practical application of techniques and skills covered in EMT curricula. Scenario based learning applied to the techniques of emergency medical care in accordance with national and state curriculum. Practical application of anatomy, physiology, patient assessment, and treatment of medically or traumatically compromised patients, special hazards and medical operations. Also includes patient-assisted medication administration, semi-automatic external defibrillator and blood glucose monitoring. Students operate in outside, scenario based environments. Note: EMT/FSC104AB may be repeated for credit. Prerequisites: None. Corequisites: EMT104.

- Notes: Prerequisites for the EMT Program: 1. You must be at least 18 years of age at the time of registration or have EMT Program Director approval. 2. You must have ONE of the following: a. High School graduation GPA of 3.0 (must be an official U.S. High school transcript and completed within the last 10 years) OR b. Reading score of 261 or higher on the Next - Gen Accuplacer reading exam OR c. 95 or higher score on the EdReady Critical Reading and Critical Thinking exam OR d. Successful completion of CRE 101 OR e. Associate’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution OR f. Permission from EMT Program Director
