Emergency Medical Technology (EMT104) 10 Credits

Designed as the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) lecture to prepare students for scope of practice and standard of care with comprehensive assessment, diagnostic technology, patient advocacy, ethical and professional behaviors, critical thinking, decision-making, and patient management of medical and trauma emergencies and non-emergencies. Note: Students must meet National Registry of EMT requirements for certification. Additional information available at nremt.org EMT104 may be repeated for credit. Prerequisites: Appropriate score on Reading placement test to demonstrate minimum tenth grade level reading, or completion of an Associate's degree or higher from an accredited institution.

OR b. Associates degree or higher from an accredited college or university. Required Courses for EMT Certification: EMT 101*, EMT 104, EMT 104LL (LAB) and EMT 104AB (Simulated Patient Scenarios) *Corequisite for EMT104 (CPR) OR provide a copy of a current BLS Provider CPR card at Healthcare Provider level or Professional Rescuer level. CPR card must be good through the duration of the EMT course.
