AVC184: Digital Animation I – 3 credits

The art of animation (animated sequences, special effects, titles, etc.) using the computer. Construction characters, background graphics, color, scaling, storyboard, cells, timing, editing, and surface rendering. Screening and discussion of selected animated short films and videos. Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in (ART111 or ART116) or permission of Instructor. Corequisites: AVC100 or permission of Instructor.

  • Costs include AVC Course Fee: $75.00
  • Digital Arts courses require the use of a computer (Multi-core Intel Processor, GPU, 16Gb RAM, 1TB Storage), internet access, a webcam, speakers and microphone. An entry-level graphics tablet is required.
    Students will be provided an Adobe Creative Cloud account tied to their MEID username for home use on PC or Mac computers (smartphone or tablet mobile devices are not supported) during the duration of this course. Students should review the minimum configuration requirements to run Adobe CC on their personal device at:

    Chromebooks and iPads are not supported.
