College Mathematics Prep (MAT103) 3 Credits

Foundational knowledge of topics necessary for success in College Mathematics. Emphasis on understanding mathematical concepts and their applications. Topics include number sense, proportional reasoning, numerical and algebraic expressions, linear equations, and representations of data. Prerequisites: None. Note: MAT103 students may receive credit for only one of the following: (MAT052 and MAT053 and MAT055) or MAT103. This course is designed for students that do not qualify for MAT141 or MAT142, but intend to complete MAT14+ College Mathematics for their degree path. This course covers topics from basic arithmetic and introductory algebra.

      Online classes do not meet at specific scheduled times. Students are required to have access to a computer or mobile device, and Internet access. CANVAS is used as the learning management system. You are required to log into CANVAS on the first day of class.

      All students who enroll in this section of MAT103 for the first eight weeks of the Fall 2021 semester will have the opportunity to also enroll in MAT142 #10645 for the second eight weeks of the semester. MAT142 will also be taught online by the same instructor. The instructor will facilitate the enrollment into MAT142 during the first week of the semester. Please plan accordingly.
