CTR251AA: Court Reporting Skill Building: Block III Literary Material – 4 credits

Development of speed and accuracy skills with dictation, readback, and transcription in literary material. Speed requirements of 80 and 100 words per minute (wpm) with a speed and accuracy to meet court reporting industry standards. Note: Student must demonstrate completion of required speed in each module with a grade of C or better before enrolling in the next level. Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in CTR102 or permission of Program Director. Corequisites: (CTR251AB or CTR252AB or CTR253AB) and (CTR251AC or CTR252AC or CTR253AC).

    • Notes: Hybrid Virtual combines synchronous (scheduled online meeting times) and asynchronous (On-Your-Own-Time) instruction. Attendance is mandatory for synchronous learning. CANVAS is used as the learning management system. Students are required to have access to a computer or mobile device, internet access, a webcam, speaker, and microphone, unless otherwise specified.

      This is a performance-based course. Extensive practice outside of class is essential to the success in the program. Developing hand-mind coordination is key to mastering stenography.

      Online virtual meetings with the instructor and/or classmates will be scheduled at agreed-upon dates and times throughout the course.
