CIS103: Introduction to Social Media – 3 credits

Identify and explain social media and Web 2.0 technologies for personal, academic, professional, and business applications. Create and maintain accounts on various sites to socialize, write, and share multimedia, while understanding the related ethics, privacy and security issues. Prerequisites: None. Note: Students must be 13 years or older to enroll in CIS103 as students are required to create social media accounts for course participation.

  • The class does not have a specific meeting schedule. However, students may be required to meet virtually with the instructor and/or classmates at agreed-upon dates and times throughout the course. Students are required to have access to a computer or mobile device, and Internet access. CANVAS is used as the learning management system.
