UAS107: Uncrewed Aircraft Systems Operator Certification – 3 credits

This course offers in-depth preparation for students to take the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Remote Pilot Aeronautical Knowledge test. Topics include regulations, air space, charts, airport operations, weather, loading, flight performance, radio communications, aeronautical decision making, small Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (sUAS) flight operations, and maintenance. In the associated flight lab, students receive a sUAS and acquire practical skills and experience including maintenance and pre-flight inspections, flight skills, and emergency procedures while operating a sUAS through various uncrewed flight scenarios. Prerequisites: None. Note: Students must complete the required sUAS flight lessons to satisfactorily complete the course.
