      This class requires a 3-day / 2-night camping trip with a required day hike partially into the Grand Canyon. It is expected that students are in good physical shape and are able to go on a very strenuous hike. The hike involves a roundtrip distance of 6 miles and an elevation change of 2100 feet (equivalent of hiking to the top of Piestewa Peak twice).

      There is a mandatory meeting on Saturday, February 21 from 10 am to noon, prior to going on the field trip.
