Basic skills required to complete architectural drawings with Revit software; simplified overview of the software program and operations gained through completing typical plan, elevation, sectional, and 3D views, using generic walls and related components.

ARC265: Sketchup I: Introduction to Sketchup – 3 credits

Provides students with introductory level instruction utilizing Sketchup rendering software for school and workplace applications. Addresses basic drawing/rendering commands, accessing external drawing files, and plotting through the creation of both three-dimensional schematic and rendered interior and exterior building views. An intensive course focusing on the theory and practice of dance technique including, but not limited to, ballet, modern dance, modern jazz, pilates, yoga and dance performance at the beginning level. Study of repertory and development of movement quality and performance skills. Includes an informal public showing of dance technique and performance skills. Prerequisites: None. DAN298AA: Special Projects – 1 credit

Organized and tailored around the interests and needs of the individual student. Structured to provide an atmosphere of individualized research and study paralleled by professional expertise and guidance. Professional-type facilities and equipment available for student use. Allows the best aspects of independent study and individualized learning to be combined to maximize student development. Prerequisites: Permission of Program Director or Instructor.

ECE102: Engineering Analysis Tools and Techniques – 2 credits

Learning culture of engineering, engineering use of computer tools, and computer modeling as applied to engineering analysis and design. Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in MAT15+ or higher-level mathematics course, or permission of Instructor or Division or Department Chair.

Use MATLAB to solve engineering problems. An overview of programming, including matrices, structures, strings, functions, control flow, file management, data analysis, graphing capabilities, and mathematical calculations. ECN211: Macroeconomic Principles – 3 credits

A descriptive analysis of the structure and functioning of the American economy. Emphasis on basic economic institutions and factors that determine national income and employment levels. Consideration given to the macroeconomic topics of national income, unemployment, inflation and monetary and fiscal policies. Prerequisites: None.

Overview of the exceptional learner with emphasis on factors relating to current practices, identification, characteristics, and educational adaptations. EDU239: Structured English Immersion Grades K-8 – 3 credits

A foundation course designed to prepare educators to serve the needs of English Learners (EL) grades K-8. Includes Structured English Immersion (SEI) models and the Arizona Language Development Approach with emphasis on asset based behaviors and expectations, integrated and targeted English Language Development (ELD) instruction, assessment monitoring and feedback. Also covers legal and historical foundations and current issues. Prerequisites: Baccalaureate Degree or permission of Department or Division.

EDU269: Educational Technology – 3 credits

Overview and practical application of teaching methodology integrating technology into curriculum development for teachers. Explores how emerging technologies are used to teach and learn across varied educational environments (face-to-face, hybrid, online, etc.). Includes skills focused on basic computer operations, productivity software, digital citizenship, instructional practices, information literacy and family and professional partnerships. Emphasis placed on effective use of technology in teaching and learning. Discusses current trends and related issues about technology and its impacts in P12 education. Prerequisites: Baccalaureate Degree and formal acceptance to a Maricopa Community College state approved post-baccalaureate teacher preparation program or permission of Department or Division.

EDU270: Learning And The Brain – 3 credits

Teaching and learning issues within a cognitive processes context. Covers emotion, memory, and recall as well as early brain development and its relationship to learning. Emphasis on current neuroscientific brain research and how it impacts teaching practice in preK-12 classrooms. Prerequisites: Baccalaureate Degree and formal acceptance to a Maricopa Community College state approved post-baccalaureate teacher preparation program or permission of Department or Division.

EDU272: Educational Psychology – 3 credits

Focus on the study and application of psychological principles, theories, and methodologies related to teaching and learning. Emphasis on developmental, learning, and motivational theories. Current trends also covered. Prerequisites: None.

ENG101: First-Year Composition – 3 credits

Emphasis on rhetoric and composition with a focus on expository writing and understanding writing as a process. Establishing effective college-level writing strategies through four or more writing projects comprising at least 3,000 words in total. Prerequisites: Appropriate writing placement test score, or a grade of C or better in ENG091 or ESL097 or WAC101, or a grade of B or better in ALT100, or (a grade of C in ALT100 AND Corequisites: ENG101LL or ENG107LL OR WAC101 OR ENG100A+).

ESL097: Preparatory Academic Writing III for ESL – 3 credits

Emphasizes preparation for first year composition with a focus on critical writing, reading, and thinking skills and processes at an increased level of academic complexity. Prerequisites: Appropriate writing placement score, or a grade of C or better in ESL087 or ENG081, or permission of Department or Division.

EXS101: Introduction to Exercise Science – 3 credits

Introductory course that will provide the student with a general overview of the key theories and concepts, professions, and research areas associated with the field of Exercise Science. Educational pathways and career options will also be examined.

EXS125: Introduction to Exercise Physiology – 3 credits

Principles of exercise science applied to fitness instruction. Major factors related to the function of the human body will be examined/introduced with an emphasis on exercise physiology and functional anatomy. EXS215: Resistance Training and Recovery Techniques – 3 credits

Fundamental methods for safe and effective instruction of resistance, functional, and athletic conditioning exercises. Application of foundational principles of physiology and kinesiology. Overview of warm-up, cooldown, and recovery techniques. A grade of C or better required in all Prerequisites. Prerequisites or Corequisites: EXS101 or permission of Instructor.

EXS217: Cardiorespiratory and Flexibility Training – 3 credits

Fundamental methods for safe and effective instruction of cardiorespiratory and flexibility training exercises. Application of foundational principles of physiology and kinesiology. A grade of C or better required in all Prerequisites. Prerequisites or Corequisites: EXS101 or permission of Instructor.

EXS270AA: Exercise Science Internship – 1 credit

A capstone experience in a fitness or health related facility. Eighty (80) hours of designated work per credit. Note: CPR certification must be current through the duration of the internship. EXS270AA may be repeated for a maximum of six (6) credits. Prerequisites: Completion of nine (9) credits of EXS courses with a grade of C or better, current CPR and AED card, and permission of Department/Division Chair and/or the Program Director.

EXS270AB: Exercise Science Internship – 2 credits

A capstone experience in a fitness or health related facility. Eighty (80) hours of designated work per credit.
