College Algebra/Functions with Review (MAT155)
5 Credits
Analysis and interpretation of the behavior and nature of functions including linear, quadratic, higher-order polynomials, rational, exponential, logarithmic, power, absolute value, and piecewise-defined functions; systems of equations, using multiple methods including matrices, and modeling and solving real world problems. Note: May receive credit for only one of the following: MAT150, OR MAT151, OR MAT152, OR MAT155, OR MAT156, OR MAT187. This course is designed for students that do not qualify for MAT150 or MAT151 or MAT152, but intend to complete MAT15+ College Algebra for their degree path. - Class Notes: Live Online Classes have live online sessions that meet on specific days and times. Attendance in these live online sessions is mandatory. Additional online work that is not synchronous may also be included during the duration the classes are offered and have set due dates for assignments. Students are required to have access to a computer or mobile device, and Internet access.
This course also requires the use of a webcam, speakers and microphone (or headset).
Students are required to have a device on which they can download software or apps. If using an ipad, it must be ios10 or higher.
This course requires online proctoring for some or all exams. Details will be available in your course syllabus.
All textbook and course materials available at no or low cost (<$40) - may include OER (Open Educational Resources).
Class 20897 costs include MAT Course Fee: $5
- Additional Class Notes: Graphing calculator is required for homework and exams. The TI-83 or TI-84 are strongly recommended.
