      Additional Course Fee: $199 for the Fish ID Course Pack, which includes the textbook, facility access fee, and rental scuba gear voucher for the class.

      Students will need to purchase the Course Pack from the dive facility, Academy of Scuba (call 602.995.5926 Dominic Diodato) before the first class. In addition to the Fish ID Course Pack, students will need DAN Insurance and their own personal gear for the class consisting of a mask, hood, gloves, dive lights, safety sausage and reel, snorkel, and fins. All other scuba gear needed for the dives and certification are included with the class voucher in the Fish ID Course Pack.       First orientation class is Tuesday, Oct. 28, 8-9pm in FW527. This is a one-time orientation
      class. Date of the trip is Nov. 1-2. Introduction to caving will be conducted in real active caves.
      Students will have ample time to explore a large cave. Students will learn cave exploration,
      Leave No trace principles, equipment use, cave ecology, lighting systems and cave conservation.
      Students will spend one night camping at a campground. Caving equipment (helmet),
      transportation and dinner/breakfast are provided. Class is graded on attendance, not physical
      performance. This course is for beginners. Basic level of fitness required. Travel/activity cost
      $45. Travel/activity cost is due at registration, no travel/activity cost refunds after 10/28. Class

      Special Projects: Holistic Living - Sustainable Building from the Ground Up
      Informational Session on Friday, September 26th, 11:30AM-12:30PM in Q120 (open to the general public - no registration required)
      This educational special project will promote rammed earth as a sustainable option for future building in our surrounding communities. Master rammed earth builder, Quentin Branch, and environmental artist, Joan Baron, will facilitate this hands-on workshop. To learn the rammed earth building techniques, students will be building three rammed earth benches that will be a part of the PVCC landscape. This course is recommended for sustainability students, art students, science/physics students, honors program students, and interested community members. Don't miss out on this rare learning opportunity.
