Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (EMT240) 2 Credits

Designed for the allied healthcare provider who initiates, directs, or participates in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest and other cardiovascular emergencies. Provides the allied healthcare provider with the knowledge and skills to recognize and manage cardiopulmonary arrest, acute arrhythmia, stroke, and Acute Coronary Syndromes (ACS) according to current advanced Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) guidelines. Pediatric Education for Prehospital Providers: Advanced (EMT265) 1 Credit

An interactive, scenario based course designed for Advanced EMTs who practice in the field. Enables providers to perform a rapid assessment of sick and injured children in variety of circumstances. Includes scene management, use of pediatric assessment triangle, developmental differences, injury prevention, airway management techniques, intravenous and intraosseous access and monitoring, ECG arrhythmia recognition, synchronized and unsynchronized cardioversion, pediatric trauma and mechanism of injury, submersion events, children with special health care needs, child abuse and neglect, child and family interactions, use of specialized equipment, documentation of signs, symptoms, care and transportation, special issues in pediatric transportation.       GOLDWATER LAKE TRAIL- South of Prescott. Day hike is on Saturday, October 6th, 6am - 6pm. After you are registered in the class, contact instructor leonard.lev@gccaz.edu for hike itinerary. Goldwater Lake Trail is a 9 mile forested trail shaded by dense ponderosa pine that occasionally give way to alligator juniper and chaparral-type vegetation. There are excellent views of both Upper and Lower Goldwater Lakes, as well as the high country to the east and west. This trail traverses a landscape of hills and ridges, where the valleys are green with Gambel oak, and a variety of grasses. The trail crosses Bannon Creek twice, which may be flowing in the spring. Birds are especially active in this area. First class meeting Thursday October 4, 2018, 7:30pm at GCC Main campus in the FW-52. Class departs from GCC Main campus on Saturday October 6th, at 6:00am.

      This is a hands-on class where students will be growing sprouts and microgreens.
