Lifetime Fitness (PED115) 2 Credits

Increase personal fitness, strength, and vitality. Current principles of cardiovascular exercise, weight training, flexibility, and balance exercises applicable to lifetime fitness goals. Personalized fitness plans developed and implemented with support of highly trained fitness professionals. Techniques to make sessions more effective and enjoyable. Prerequisites: None. Note: PED115 may be repeated for a total of eight (8) credit hours.

      Class 16399 costs include Fitness User Fee: $20
    • Additional Class Notes: Prior to beginning using the Fitness Center and attending Group Fitness for exercise, students must access their course on Canvas. Students review the course syllabus, take a 10 question syllabus quiz and then complete and print out a Health Questionnaire. Students must bring their completed Health Questionnaire and quiz results (must get 10 out of 10 correct) to one of the scheduled orientations the first week of school. (Monday 1/16 is MLK Holiday)
      Orientation sessions are conducted in South Gym, G163, Tuesday 1/17 -Wednesday 1/18 –Thursday 1/19: 9A, 10A, 11A, 12P, 4P, 5P, 6P and Friday 1/20, 9A, 10A, 11A. Complete half -hour workout by 1:00pm close on Friday. Orientation for late start sections are conducted in the Fitness Center during open hours.

      Students must complete their orientation + 30 minutes of exercise in the Fitness Center or participate in a Group Exercise class by 1:00pm the first Friday of school or risk being withdrawn. Contact Instructor for exceptions.
